Andreas Antonopoulos: Google quantum machine does not threaten BTC

Andreas Antonopoulos believes that Google’s new developments in the field of quantum computing will not affect the security of the Bitcoin network.
Entrepreneur Andreas Antonopoulos, who actively supports Bitcoin, said that Google’s progress will not be able to undermine the position of Bitcoin, in particular, it will not affect the mining and crypto industry as a whole.
Recall that last month there was information that Google used a quantum computer to complete a task that would take tens of thousands of years for an ordinary device to complete.
The news of course caused concern among the crypto community, but Antonopoulos explained that the effectiveness of Google’s development is applicable to solve only a certain class of problems. They have nothing to do with the features of the blockchain and cannot lead to the collapse of cryptography.
A few years ago, the question of the quantum threat to Bitcoin was already raised, but then Antonopoulos also dispelled fears that such a technology did not exist. Nevertheless, the expert nevertheless noted that the improvement of BTC in terms of the manifestation of resistance to quantum computing has already been included in the roadmap. This is necessary at least to protect signature algorithms in a BTC project.
