Acne Buterin "will lose faith in humanity" if Tron overtakes Ethereum

Vitaly Buterin, co-founder of Ethereum, during an interview with Laura Shin in the framework of the “Unchained podcasts”, answered some interesting questions:

Does Ethereum lose the lead?

Buterin says that this is to some extent true, but he recalled that Ethereum is one of the first crypto projects, and as the industry ages, more and more new projects emerge that learn from the mistakes of their predecessors and do not repeat them.  

Would you personally be upset if another blockchain gets ahead of Ethereum?

Buterin believes that Dfinity is Ethereum’s most promising competitor, they are also friends with Zcash and even “warm up Ethereum Classic”. However, if Tron overtakes Ethereum, he "will lose faith in humanity."

About the price of ETH

I'm going to be very frank. Some early rhetoric that price didn’t matter at all … was partially due to the fact that [Ethereum] was different from other projects that did too much pumping … projects will be better if prices go up.
