The Moscow administration has begun to search for a contractor who will create a blockchain platform to automate public services. This was reported by local media with reference to the press service of the Moscow Department of Information Technology.
The agency announced an auction to develop a system based on the Ethereum blockchain , which will have a set of functions for interacting with citizens. The developer will receive from the city hall 57 million rubles ($ 860,000).
The system should autonomously issue documents to people, for example, when dealing with real estate. According to the department, the platform should have high bandwidth to simultaneously serve up to 1.5 million users.
After choosing a contractor for the development of the system, the capital administration takes 60 days. The ultimate goal of launching a blockchain network is to increase Muscovites' confidence in the city’s authorities, as well as the spread of electronic services and increased transparency of operations.
It should be noted that the Russian authorities are striving to accelerate the introduction of digital technologies in all spheres of the economy and public services in order to reduce citizens' expenses for processing business and other documents and minimize the corruption component by increasing the transparency of the departments.
