According to a study by technology company Comparitech Limited, 85.5% of the comments related to cryptocurrencies and cryptocurrency market news are positive in color.
According to analysts, in general, public sentiment regarding cryptocurrencies is “extremely positive”. And this is despite the high volatility and a downtrend that cryptocurrencies showed last year, as well as the comments of some authoritative critics.
The purpose of the study was to quantify the positive and negative public moods surrounding the crypto industry.
The study was based on an analysis of comments on the Reddit forum and industry-specific media from January 2017 to July 2019. A total of 48,469 publications in Reddit and 7,500 articles from 48 international media were analyzed.
The analysis found that the most positive comments were made regarding Libra , Facebook cryptocurrencies – 97.7%, followed by Cardano (90.3%), Ethereum (88.7%) and Tron (87.4%). Bitcoin took sixth place with 83.5% of positive comments.
An analysis of the relationship between important events in the cryptocurrency industry and the frequency of online discussions and publications revealed five important events:
- Bitcoin exceeded the value of gold in March 2017
- The cryptocurrency market achieved a total capitalization of $ 500,000 million
- bearish period from november 2018
- The beginning of the growth of the Bitcoin exchange rate in February 2019
- June-July 2019, when the price of bitcoin approached $ 14,000, while Facebook announced the launch of the Libra cryptocurrency
Recall, the experts of The TIE analytic platform in June conducted a global study of cryptocurrency tweets . The results showed that 59.8% of bitcoin tweets are positive. But 54.8% of all posts on Libra have a negative connotation.
