Now the US Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) uses a centralized system to track logistic processes, making it difficult to synchronize data between different systems. However, according to DLA, blockchain can improve logistics by providing up-to-date information and technology transparency.
“Speaking of the blockchain, experts compare the transformation of trust or transactions of this technology with the way the Internet has changed the world of communications. Using the blockchain, you can transfer the technical characteristics of materials, track data from the manufacturer from whom you buy raw materials, before transporting and loading onto barges, ”said DLA representatives.
The US Department of Defense continues to explore the capabilities of the distributed registry technology.
