Anthony Pompliano, the Bitcoin bull and co-founder of Morgan Creek Digital, said he would immediately tokenize the dollar if he had the right to do so. In his opinion, this would allow the USD to maintain its position as a reserve currency. At the same time, Pompliano is confident that people would choose Bitcoin, a currency that is not controlled by the government.
Pompliano shared his thoughts as part of his appearance on the Squawk Box (CNBC) program. Someone asked the investor whether BTC will be able to maintain its accumulation function when national currencies become digital. First of all, he noted that if he acted as the American government, he would immediately tokenize USD. China is already engaged in the tokenization of the renminbi, while other countries, according to Pompliano, will also deal with this sooner or later.
Morgan Creek Digital co-founder believes that in the future there will be no competition between digital and non-digital currencies, but there will be between monetary policy. If, for example, the yuan is available in a tokenized format and the dollar is not, then other countries will prefer the yuan.
However, Bitcoin is still in a better position. Among all digitalized digital currencies, humanity will choose the one that is free from manipulation, censorship, government control, that is, BTC. This process will be slow, but the flagship cryptocurrency will still win people over.
