The company surveyed 411 major players in the US financial market, 40% of whom expressed willingness to invest part of their capital in cryptocurrency in the very near future.
These respondents said they would increase their investments in digital assets over the next five years.
47% of the surveyed institutional investors said to the researchers that they are not yet considering options for buying digital currencies, but in the future they may decide to include the most promising coins in their portfolios.
The overwhelming majority of players (up to 72%) place their crypto-investment products on their account , while 57% of financial institutions prefer to buy cryptoactive assets directly .
Tom Jackcon, President of Fidelity Digital Assets, said :
“We are registering an increase in interest in digital assets from such structures as hedge funds and traditional institutional investors in the form of family companies and endowments.”
Large financial institutions are gradually changing their attitude to cryptocurrencies for the better, as repeatedly advocated by a Bitcoin supporter Anthony Pompiano.
However, there are a number of factors that still prevent more large-scale investors from entering the cryptosphere. Among them are the problems of regulating relations in the industry and the increased volatility of coins, which provoke short-term and significant changes in their value.
