Doodles 2 will be Dynamic NFTs
Doodles is one of the famous NFTs collection that features 10,000 unique collectibles on Ethereum. Doodles are colorful profile pictures (PFPs) and have racked up more than $550 million in trading volume to date with musician Pharrell Williams as its chief brand officer.
Doodles 2 will be a much larger-scale NFT series that will enable holders to customize their Doodle with wearables. The project was announced at the NFT NYC conference in June of 2022. This series will span to millions of NFTs instead of the 10,000 avatars in the first Doodles series.
It will have two different types of NFTs: Doodles and wearables. At the start, users can mint a base-level Doodle, choose generic traits like skin tone and hair color and change their look through wearables, as they are all on-chain properties. They will also have the option to swap between a full-body or PFP perspective and an animated version of the Doodle with original music.
But for Doodles 2, they have selected Flow, a blockchain network famously known for sports-based NFT projects like NBA Top Shot, instead of Ethereum. Giving the reason for choosing Flow, the Doodles team cited the Flow network’s scalability, interoperability, and design focused on projects like Doodles 2.
So why did we choose Flow for Doodles 2?
We’re able to create a frictionless on-chain app that lets mainstream fans customize their Doodle without limits.

The release will start on January 31st, with the launch of Dooplicator, where current holders of Doodles can mint the first edition of Doodles 2 wearables to customize their Doodles. As the current Doodles are hosted on Ethereum, the team has built a data oracle. Wearables will then be tradeable on the Gaia marketplace on Flow.
This will be followed by Genesis Boxes which will be released a month after Dooplicator. According to the announcement:
“These will mint second edition Doodles 2 wearables, as well as a Doodles 2 Beta Pass for future use. Once you have your wearables and Beta Pass, you’ll have everything you need to access the private beta once it begins, which will be the first look at the create-your-own Doodle tool.”
Users can create a Dapper Wallet to house their Doodles or transfer to their own non-custodial wallet, such as Blocto.
The Flow team is excited about the upcoming launch as Dieter Shirley, Chief Architect of Flow, commented:
“With Doodles 2, they are unlocking more value for their existing community, while setting the stage for many more folks to join the joyful, inclusive world of Doodles. The Doodles’ vision of accessible, interactive, and personalized fun is exactly the kind of project we had in mind when we designed Flow. I’m so excited for the launch!”
