The transaction marks the formal integration of a specialized decentralized infrastructure developer into a traditional financial ratings provider with more than a century operating in international capital markets.
Prior to the acquisition, smart contracts developed by OpenZeppelin facilitated cumulative transfers of over $37 trillion in value across public decentralized ecosystems worldwide.
Its software libraries serve as core building blocks for major decentralized finance protocols, base-layer blockchains, fiat-pegged stablecoins, and institutional tokenized investment funds.
A primary share of these implementations was deployed on Ethereum, where the organization’s reference implementations established standard parameters for technical asset issuance.
