Cryptocurrency platform Wirex Japan Limited officially became a member of type II of the Japan Association of Virtual Currency Exchanges (JVCEA), which is the penultimate step to the ability to provide a full range of services to customers in Japan. This edition of BlockchainJournal was reported by company representatives.
According to them, for 18 months Wirex Japan Limited, a subsidiary of the Wirex Limited payment service, has undergone a thorough assessment of all compliance processes with regulatory safety requirements and KYC / AML.
“We welcome the level of due diligence demonstrated by the JVCEA. Following their rules, we guarantee that Wirex remains at the highest global standards for regulatory compliance and safety. We are proud to receive Type II membership for Wirex, which brings us closer to a full-fledged job in Japan, ”said CEO Wirex Pavel Matveev.
The next goal for Wirex is Type I membership, which will establish the platform as a legitimate provider of crypto asset exchange services and will be issued by the Japan Financial Services Agency (FSA). If successful, Wirex will be the 20th company to reach this milestone.
Note that Wirex has more than 2 million users in 130 countries, and the total volume of operations is more than $ 2 billion.
In August 2018, the Wirex platform became the third company to receive a license from the United Kingdom's Financial Regulatory and Supervision Authority (FCA) to conduct electronic money transactions (E-money).
