The founder of the blockchain platform TRON, Justin Sun, paid $ 4,567,888 at the auction, which played out the traditional annual dinner with the famous Bitcoin critic billionaire Warren Buffet. He announced this on his Twitter page.

The Chinese entrepreneur has already promised to enlighten Buffet about cryptocurrency.

“In investor circles, many people often change their minds,” San said in an interview with Bloomberg . “The best investment opportunities come when people underestimate technology.”

Justin Sun also posted an entry in his blog , where he expressed the hope that one of the most successful investors of all time could sometimes lose sight of the impending wave.

The charity auction, which features the opportunity to eat steaks at Buffett’s company, is being held for the twentieth time. Bidding is held in favor of the Glide Foundation, which fights hunger, poverty and helps the homeless in San Francisco.

Previously, Buffett paid a maximum of $ 3.46 million for lunch – this rate won twice, in 2012 and 2016.

As the Financial Times notes, in some cases, the multimillion-dollar value of a meal can be considered a “reasonable investment. As an example, the publication cites the case of the founder of the Peninsula investment fund Ted Weschler, who won the auction two years in a row: first in 2010, having paid $ 2,626,311, then in 2011, having laid out only $ 100 more at auction.

During the second lunch, Buffett offered the financier a job in his holding Berkshire Hathaway, and last year Buffett named him among his potential successors as head of the company.

Earlier, Buffett predicted the collapse of the cryptocurrency industry, called the cryptocurrency “a real bubble”, and speaking of Bitcoin, he used terms such as “rat poison in a square” and “illusion without unique value” .
