Founders of the bitcoin exchange Gemini Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss are negotiating a possible entry into the ranks of the Libra Association, which is developing the digital currency Libra from the social network Facebook. They reported this in an interview with the Boss Files podcast on CNN .
According to the brothers, they expect that their long-standing conflict with Mark Zuckerberg will not stand in the way of potential mutually beneficial cooperation.
“Facebook was a disagreement for us, but it didn’t affect us as people. Gemini is much more a reflection of us as people, our views and interests, ”said Tyler Cameron.
Despite the fact that a decision to join the Libra Association has not yet been made, the Winklevoss brothers believe that the digital currency Facebook will help the development of the entire cryptocurrency industry.
“I think the day will come when we cannot live without cryptocurrencies or imagine what the world was like before cryptocurrencies,” Cameron Winklevoss added.
As you know, the Libra project is under considerable pressure from regulators around the world, and a partnership with Gemini, which is active in financial services in the United States, can make Winklevosses valuable partners for Zuckerberg.
However, before a final decision is made, including a possible Libra listing on Gemini, the brothers intend to study all the details of the project more carefully
The Libra Association consists of 28 companies and non-profit organizations, including Calibra (Facebook), Visa, Mastercard, Uber and Spotify.
