The blockchain division of the Japanese corporation Line, which owns the eponymous messenger, received a license from a local regulator to launch a cryptocurrency exchange. This is reported by the Cointelegraph .
The BitMax platform will allow 80 million Japanese Line users to trade Bitcoin, Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin and XRP. According to the company, more than 187 million people worldwide use the Line instant messenger every month, and its mobile payment service is about 50 million.

BitMax uses the backend of the Singapore BitBox trading platform (also from Line).
Recall that in 2018, the company launched its own public Link Chain blockchain and Link digital currency.
