was successfully held on the EOS network

EOS block manufacturers have activated version 1.8 of the EOSIO protocol. A massive update required the first hard fork on the network, which was successfully held at 4:00 p.m. (GMT) on Monday, September 23.

The first protocol upgrade of EOS main net (hard fork) is now successfully complete. Great work by the community.

We now look forward to incredible apps from the community and of course #Voice on #EOS

The release included consensus protocol updates # 6831 and # 7167, as well as a set of protocol functions that are activated independently of each other:

    REACTIVATE_FEATURE. Enabling protocol pre-activation – activated first.

    ONLY_LINK_TO_EXISTING_PERMISSION (# 6831). Ban links to non-existent permission.

    REPLACE_DEFERRED (# 6997, # 7185). Fix deferred transaction issues.

    NO_DUPLICATE_DEFERRED_ID (# 7072, # 7173, activation associated with REPLACE_DEFERRED). Resolving pending transaction ID conflicts.

    FIX_LINKAUTH_RESTRICTION (# 7025). Fix excessive EOSIO restrictions.

DISALLOW_EMPTY_PRODUCER_SCHEDULE (# 7026). Prohibition of offers of an empty production schedule

RESTRICT_ACTION_TO_SELF (# 7088). Limit authorization checks when sending actions to yourself.

ONLY_BILL_FIRST_AUTHORIZER (# 7089). Billing for CPU usage and network bandwidth only to the first transaction authorizer.

FORWARD_SETCODE (# 7109). Change the method of sending an action (setcode).

GET_SENDER (# 7111). Allow smart contracts to determine which account is the sender of an embedded action

RAM_RESTRICTIONS (# 7131). Change restrictions for RAM billing.

The EOS community will discuss the update status on Tuesday, September 24, during the weekly conference.

Despite the successful hard fork, the price of digital currency at the time of writing fell by 4% by the day ( CoinMarketCap data).

Recall that the first hard fork on the EOS network was announced in mid-September. The update was supported by 29 of the 30 largest manufacturers of EOS blocks.
