The creation of the Russian IoT-operator will be carried out by Igor Rotenberg and Rostec. Issue price of 53 billion rubles

The company "Glonass-TM" plans to create a federal operator of the Internet of Things (IoT). Capital costs for the project are estimated by the company at 53 billion rubles, Vedomosti reports.

It is known that 75% of Glonass-TM through RT-Invest Transport Systems are controlled by Rostec, Igor Rotenberg and their partners.

So, until 2024, Glonass-TM is going to build more than 34 thousand wireless access base stations of the LPWAN standard. According to the calculations of the authors of the project, by 2023 the revenue of the federal IoT-operator will exceed 40.5 billion rubles, and in 2024 it will be close to 45 billion rubles.

The total capitalization of the Russian IoT market in 2022, Glonass-TM, was estimated at 220-592 billion rubles.

It is expected that the competition "Glonass-TM" will be the four of the largest Russian mobile operators.

In particular, MTS said that the company is already the federal operator of the Internet of Things. Now its NB-IoT network operates in 50 regions of Russia. MTS also collaborates with companies and startups developing sensors and devices of the Internet of Things.

We have not yet been able to get comments from Beeline, MegaFon and Tele2.

Recall earlier in April, the Russian company RT-Design Technologies, part of the state corporation Rostec, and the Seldon Group of Companies signed a memorandum of cooperation in the development of digital services. The document suggests the creation of the country's largest certification center.
