    The ityternity project, which is developing a blockchain protocol for creating decentralized applications and scalable smart contracts, announced a second hardfork Fortuna. Hardfork will be held on June 5, 2019 at block # 90800.

    The main innovation of Fortuna fork is universal accounts (Generalized Accounts). Such accounts allow using different user authorization schemes.

    With universal accounts, users can:

    • create multi-signature wallets;
    • restore access to accounts;
    • set spending limits;
    • limit the types of transactions sent.

    Fortuna 3.0.1 update is available in the GitHub repository. Developers can check the compatibility of their applications before hardforkom in the test network.

    æternity is a blockchain platform for creating decentralized applications and scalable smart contracts. The project solves the problem of scaling with the help of p2p technology of state channels (the operation between the parties is processed in a separate channel, and the main blockchain works as an archive of data to which the parties turn in case of disagreement.

    In order for smart contracts in the system to interact with the outside world, æternity implements a system of oracles – special nodes that receive and verify information from outside the blockchain.

    Note that the æternity team has begun work on the third planned hard forks platform, which has no name yet. His release is scheduled for September. The developers are planning to include Virtual State Channels and the Fast Transaction Engine (FATE) in it.

    Recall that the first hardfork in the aeternity Minerva network took place in March.
