So, the new platform is non-custodial: users must keep private keys exclusively on Trezor or KeepKey hardware wallets (Ledger support will be added in the near future). At the same time, hardware wallets will need to be connected only when sending coins and trading.

It is noteworthy that from now on, users can link to an account and their bank account, which will enable them to make almost instant transfers of fiat funds to cryptocurrencies, which are stored in cold storages.
The platform supports more than 50 digital assets: traditionally, users can send / receive them, as well as view transaction history. At the same time, a direct exchange of cryptocurrency is possible without regard to liquidity or the risks associated with intermediaries.
ShapeShift are convinced that the new custodial giants will not implement the cryptocurrency revolution. According to them, for a breakthrough in the financial industry, users must fully control their funds through control of private keys.
Representatives of the platform also added that everyone has the right to financial confidentiality.
"We will continue to fight for this right, despite the fact that for the time being we are forbidden to implement it in our products."
Probably, we are talking about a controversial situation in which ShapeShift found itself after the launch of the so-called membership program, which involves the collection of personal user data.
