
The US Trade and Markets Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) plans to hire a legal advisor to develop a comprehensive plan for cryptocurrency-based securities and digital assets [security tokens]. The corresponding statement is posted on the USAJobs portal.
The specialist must understand the federal legislation on securities. His task will be to understand how the existing legal norms can be applied to digital securities, cryptocurrency and new market players: broker-dealers, stock exchanges and clearing services.
Note that he will also be a key representative of the SEC in the working group on fintech and a link between the office and the working group on digital assets in the composition of the Financial Stability Supervision Board (FSOC). At the same time, it will provide SEC contacts with regulators of other countries, market participants and the public.
The potential consultant must have a doctoral degree in law and be a member of the US Federal Bar Association. Experience in the field – at least four years. SEC offers annual salary in the range of $ 144- $ 238 thousand.
