Only 27% of German residents consider using Facebook's Libra digital currency as a means of payment. This is evidenced by a survey conducted by the Toluna Market Research Institute for Creditplus Bank AG and the local publication WirtschaftsWoche .
73% of the 2,000 people surveyed exclude the possibility of using Libra. Almost half of them do not trust Facebook, and 31% are skeptical of currencies that are not controlled by the state.
Libra enjoys the greatest support among Germans aged 22 to 34 years. Almost 42% of them are willing to consider the use of digital currency.
Recall, the German government adopted a blockchain regulation strategy that prohibits the issuance of any parallel digital currencies in the country, including the Facebook coin.
Earlier, Libra was criticized by the Minister of Finance of Germany Olaf Scholz, and the head of the Bundesbank, Jens Weidmann, urged politicians not to limit innovation.
