On the website of the Ministry of Education of Belarus, a hidden miner was discovered

A script was discovered on the website of the Ministry of Education of Belarus, which is used for hidden mining of cryptocurrencies. It is reported by the local publication TUT.BY.

One of the site visitors detected malware after Dr.Web anti-virus blocked the ministry’s page.

“I sent the link to Dr.Web Lab. And here is the answer: “This is not a false positive. A malicious JS script is distributed from this site. BtcMine, which is designed to extract cryptocurrencies on visitors' computers, while this page is open in the visitor’s browser, ”the user who discovered the miner said.

Dr.Web clarified that the script could be posted on the site by both administrators and by hacking.

The press service of the ministry confirmed the problem and stated that they are already working to resolve it.

Recall that in September, employees of the State Judicial Administration of Ukraine were suspected of mining cryptocurrencies on official computers.
