The German mining company Northern Bitcoin has completed testing of new containers for bitcoin mining, in which 144 ASIC miners are installed. It is reported by The Block .
A feature of the farm was air cooling. Such a container does not require additional efforts to remove heat, but it is recommended to install it in places with cold air.
Currently, Northern Bitcoin owns and maintains 21 containers with 210 ASIC miners in each. They are installed in Norway and are cooled with water. However, only air is used to remove heat in the new containers, which is simpler and more energy efficient. Such farms can be installed in northern countries, in places where cheap energy from renewable sources is available.
Recently, the German analytical company Statista found that despite the growing hashrate, the energy consumption of mining Bitcoin has become more efficient.
