Roskomnadzor is preparing a lawsuit to block two privacy-oriented mail services Mailbox.org and Scryptmail.com. The reason was allegedly their refusal to enter the register of information dissemination organizers (ARI) at the request of the FSB. This is reported by RBC.
According to the publication, in the second quarter of 2019, Roskomnadzor demanded that the service managers of Heinlein Support GmbH and SCRYPTmail LLC provide data for inclusion in ARI within 15 days. There are still no services in the registry.
For failure to comply with the requirements, Roskomnadzor intends, by a court decision, to restrict access to services from telecom operators.
According to experts, the FSB might be interested in Mailbox.org and Scryptmail.com because of the possible sending of false messages about mining.
Recall that earlier, for a similar reason, Roskomnadzor formally blocked the Telegram messenger. Nevertheless, the service continues to work in the territory of the Russian Federation, and the department continues to look for methods to combat the messenger.
