Intercontinental Exchange, the operator of the Bakkt cryptocurrency platform, plans to launch new bitcoin derivatives. About it writes The Block , citing its own sources.
According to their information, Bakkt will soon open trading on options for the first cryptocurrency. At the same time, the company hopes to get ahead of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME Group), which previously announced the launch of bitcoin options in the first quarter of 2020.
One of the interlocutors of The Block claims that the platform has been "fostering interest" in the new product for several weeks.
Bakkt launched trading futures futures on the basis of the leading cryptocurrency in September. On the first day, their volume was 75 times lower than that of CME bitcoin futures for the same period. Nevertheless, on the eve of the platform a record trading volume of 224 BTC was recorded.
