“The euro will remain the euro today, tomorrow and in a month. For the euro is the ECB. And who is behind cryptocurrency? Therefore, we attribute them to high-risk assets, the value of which, as you could see, varies greatly, ”Draghi said.

He also stressed that currently cryptocurrency is not significant enough to provide wag on the macroeconomy.

However, Mario Draghi recalled that the ECB does not monitor digital assets and its main function is to protect consumers.

Recall, in September last year, Draghi said that the institute headed by him did not plan to issue digital currency .
