Klaytn's blockchain Klaytn launched on the main network

South Korean technology giant Kakao launched the Klaytn blockchain platform's main network. Several large companies have already joined it, including LG Electronics, Cointelegraph reports .

Kakao’s blockchain-based CEO Han Zhe Song announced that the total value of companies using Klaytn is $ 64.8 billion.

Currently, nine decentralized applications (dApps) are available on the platform. Among them, for example, an application that rewards visitors for reviews in restaurants.

By October, Kakao plans to make available 34 decentralized applications, and as expected by Kakao representatives, the platform will contribute to the development of blockchain technologies in the country.

The launch of Klaytn can be considered a significant event due to the dominance of Kakao in South Korea, where it occupies 96% of the market.

Recall, Kakao officially announced the creation of a subsidiary branch of Ground X, specializing in blockchain technologies, and announced its own blockchain platform in March last year.

Initially, its launch was planned until the end of 2018, but was postponed several times.

We also note that in March of the current year, the media reported that Kakao is going to add support for cryptocurrency to the popular KakaoTalk messenger.
