The upcoming activation of the SUN Network protocol does not require any updating of the main network of the Tron blockchain, Justin San, CEO of the Tron Foundation, explained in a recent tweet. Decentralized applications (DApps), if they do not switch to the protocol, will also not be affected.
MainNet doesn’t need to be upgraded after #SUNNetwork (DAppChain). # DApps won't switch to DAppChain. For a good user experience, it’s not necessary to complete the SDK. #TRON

“After launching the SUN Network (DAppChain), the core network does not require updating. Decentralized applications will not be affected if they do not switch to DAppChain. For a good user experience, it will only be necessary for DApps to be integrated with the sidechain SDK with a simple transition configuration from the main network to DAppChain, ” Justin Sun wrote.
Among the improvements that the SUN Network will provide, the founder of Tron has previously named the addition of cross-platform infrastructure and sidechain decentralized applications. According to him, they "will significantly increase the throughput capacity of the Tron network, including the number of transactions per second and the efficiency of the execution of smart contracts."
The launch of the SUN Network will take place in three stages: a test version of the protocol will be launched on May 30, the main version will be activated on August 10, and from September 15 Tron will start optimizing the protocol to simplify interaction with previously integrated modules.
Recall, a recent study at the DApp.com analytic site said that the Tron project has the fastest growing user base of decentralized applications, but the Ethereum platform, although losing users, is still the main choice for developers.
