
Europol and the Portuguese police arrested one of the largest counterfeiters in Europe.

Attackers sold fake Euros via Darknet for bitcoins. Acting since 2017, they issued counterfeit notes in the amount of 1.3 million euros.
The police say that fakes are one of the highest quality they have encountered. Banknotes have such elements as watermarks, imitation of a protective thread and a hologram.
“Often they are found only when making bank deposits. From the point of view of conventional trading, these banknotes are accepted quite easily , ”said the representative of the Portuguese police.
Law enforcers arrested five members of a criminal gang, including its leader. Police also confiscated 69,930 euros in fake banknotes, equipment and materials used to make fakes.
