TradeLens blockchain platform from IBM, a technology giant, and Maersk, the world leader in container shipping, will start operating in Russia. This is reported on the official website of Maersk .

As part of the agreements reached with the Russian authorities, the freight platform will be launched on the basis of the Big Port of St. Petersburg with the participation of the Federal Customs Service.

Note, TradeLens is designed to be used by the global logistic ecosystem.

According to Maersk, the launch of the platform on the Russian market will facilitate cooperation between cargo carriers and regulators, “ultimately improving the speed of movement of goods across borders.”

“We expect that the main result of the implementation of TradeLens should be an increase in the transparency of the procedure for concluding contracts by distributing information on supply and demand, conditions and operations between many participants in transport and logistics processes,” said the Deputy Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation and the head of the Federal Agency for Maritime and River Transport Yury Tsvetkov.

Recall that the creation of TradeLens became known in January last year, and by August 94 organizations became its participants .
