French President: blockchain will help European agrarian companies to compete with the Russian Federation

French President Emmanuel Macron spoke in favor of the active use of the blockchain in the supply chains of products of the agro-industrial complex, reports Cointelegraph .

During the 56th International Agricultural Fair in Paris, Macron called on all EU countries to unite to compete with China, the Russian Federation and the United States. Having identified three promising strategies for European agricultural firms, the French president emphasized the importance of using advanced technologies, including the blockchain.

“Let's do it in Europe, which is at the forefront of agrotechnologies. We will create tools that will track every product, from raw materials to packaging and processing. Innovations are already here, and they must be fully utilized in agriculture, ” said Macron.

Also, according to him, the blockchain can improve production efficiency and transparency of supply chains of agricultural products, as well as improve the quality control of goods.
