French Finance Minister: Libra will not become a sovereign currency, it is not discussed

"This is not discussed at all ," he concluded.

Le Mayor also called on the central banks of the G7 countries to study the project in detail and draw up relevant reports before the meeting to be held in July of this year.

At the same time, Markus Ferber, a member of the European Parliament from Germany, suggested that Facebook could become a “shadow bank”. Regulators, in his opinion, should look very closely at the activities of the social network.

“Multinational corporations like Facebook should not be in regulatory nirvana when they run virtual currencies ,” he stressed.
