The Department of Internal Security of the Federal Security Service of Russia detained two former investigators of the department Alexei Kolbov and Sergey Belousov in the case of a bribe in cryptocurrency. Reports about it TASS.
Kolbov and Belousov are accused of extorting 65 million rubles in bitcoins from Alexander Galumov, the son of the ex-director of Izvestia publishing house Erast Galumov, who was arrested in a case of investment contract fraud.

For this amount, the investigators promised to soften the charge to Erast Galumov and not to prosecute Alexander himself.
According to the information agency, they managed to get three million rubles, after which they were detained.
Captain Kolbov, who retired in July 2018, and Major Belousov worked in the department for combating crimes in the field of computer technology. Now, the first by the decision of the Basmanny Court of Moscow has been sent under arrest for two months.
Recall that in November 2018, the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine presented the tax authorities of Kiev and the Vinnytsia region with suspicion of creating financial pyramids and withdrawing money through cryptocurrency.
