Facebook's Libra has nothing to do with cryptocurrencies and Twitter is not even considering joining the project. This was stated by CEO of the service Jack Dorsey, said Hollywood Reporter editor Alex Veprin.
Would Twitter join the Libra project? “Hell no,” Jack Dorsey says. "Nothing within Libra had to be a cryptocurrency to do what they wanted to do."

Commenting on the speech of Facebook head Mark Zuckerberg during the hearings in the US Congress, Dorsey noted that the “American tradition” was traced in it.
“I’m afraid that if we take it as a basis, we will lose the opportunity to experiment and expand. We serve a global audience, not just an American one. The Internet is a kind of nascent nation-state , ”he stressed.
Twitter CEO also strongly rejected the possibility of joining his company to the Libra Association:
"Hell no! In order to do what they want, Libra should not have anything from cryptocurrencies. ”
At the same time, the CEO of the Visa payment service, who recently left Libra, Alfred Kelly did not exclude the possibility of further cooperation with the project. He emphasized that his company is still very closely connected with Facebook. Kelly is also convinced that digital currencies can be a good way to provide more secure payments in different regions of the world.
Recall that earlier Dorsey said that his company will not launch its own digital currency, as it is still convinced that only Bitcoin will become the native currency of the Internet.
