“Now we can proudly state that the Beam wallets are now available on all major desktop and mobile platforms. Thus, Beam’s financial sovereignty created on the Mimblewimble protocol is available literally anytime, anywhere, ”the developers report says.
Among the main features of the iOS-application Beam are the full functionality of sending and receiving funds, support for QR codes, as well as proof of payment – a cryptographically protected way of confirming that a transaction was actually carried out.
Users who require greater security are also offered optional password protection for each transaction sent.
In the next releases, the developers promise to implement other functions that are currently available in the test version of the wallet. Among them: biometric identification (Face ID or Touch ID depending on the device), safe mode, in which you can “hide” balances and transaction history from the screen, as well as the ability to select a specific node for operation (currently the wallet is connected to a random node ).
Earlier this year, it was reported that the developers of Beam are exploring the possibility of implementing their own version of the Lightning Network , which would be compatible with the Mimblewimble protocol.
