Brock Pierce: the best products in the field of cryptocurrency are created in the bear market

Bitcoin veteran and ex-chairman of the Bitcoin Foundation Brock Pierce, in an interview with Forbes, made several predictions for 2019, stating in particular that he expects growth in decentralized applications (dApps), growth in the STO market and the online gaming industry.

Decentralized applications based on platforms such as EOS, Ethereum, Tron and Cardano have recently become more and more, and according to Brock Pierce, in 2019 this segment of the market is waiting for explosive growth.

“We will see really big things, it will be numerous applications with millions of users,” said the entrepreneur.

According to him, the fact that the market has fallen in terms of prices only contributes to this.

“When prices are high, not so much is created … Everyone suddenly becomes too rich and it demotivates people. All the best I've ever seen was created in a bear market, ”says Pierce.

He also named the three necessary conditions necessary for decentralized applications to truly find widespread acceptance.

“Three things are needed. They should be scalable, they should be inexpensive in terms of commissions and easy to use. They should be fast. No one will use the Internet if it is slow, expensive and does not scale. We are creating a new Internet, so we need to set new standards. ”

According to Pierce, third-generation blockchain projects that meet these requirements today include EOS, Tron and Cardano.

STO

Brock Pierce also mentioned Security Token Offerings (STO), which are often considered a logical continuation of the ICO model, offering a more secure investment environment.

“Security tokens will be the beginning of a market for many billions of dollars. We will see the tokenization of fiat money, the debt market, real estate, stocks and art objects, ”Pierce said.

Noting that ICO could not adequately protect market participants, he expressed the conviction that in this respect STO would provide investors with a better experience.

Game industry

Another area that, according to Pierce, is waiting for active growth, is the industry of blockchain games.

“It will be a huge part of the whole process. Many of the early followers of cryptocurrency were gamers. That is why Korea and China have grown so much in this area. These were the markets where people played video games and bought and sold virtual currencies for games like Second Life and World of Warcraft. This was the first wave that gave impetus to the proliferation of cryptocurrencies, and therefore I think that games – in all their forms – will be one of the main drivers for the success of the entire ecosystem, ” said Pierce.

In addition, he noted the use of cryptocurrency, such as instant messengers and p2p-payments between people who do not have full access to banking services. According to Pierce, we are talking about two thirds of the entire population of the planet, which creates tremendous opportunities for the development of the industry.
