Bitwise Asset Management has hired several service providers to launch its Bitcoin ETF , including BNY Mellon. This is stated in the corresponding application Bitwise Bitcoin ETF Trust on the SEC website.
BNY Mellon will act as the administrator of the proposed stock exchange fund, transfer agent and custodian. Foreside Fund Services will be marketing, and Cohen & Co. will audit.
Bitwise has not yet decided on a custodian for bitcoin reserves.
Recall, Bitwise has applied for the launch of Bitcoin ETFs on the NYSE Arca in January. The SEC has already postponed the decision twice. The next deadline is October 13th.
BNY Mellon has been working with the Bakkt platform and VanEck / SolidX companies that launched a bitcoin trust for qualified institutional investors (more than $ 100 + million under management) last week.
