The popular cryptocurrency exchange Bitfinex announced technical work, which is why the platform will be unavailable for some time on August 1. Their goal is called increasing the stability and scalability of the matching application engine.

The Bitfinex report states that the work will begin at 09:30 UTC (12:30 MSK) and will last 2-3 hours, during which trading and wallet operations will be unavailable to Bitfinex and Ethfinex users.
In order to avoid forced liquidations after the resumption of trading, the exchange asks users to pay attention to open margin positions.
Additionally, Bitfinex announced today the launch of a data channel through which it will be possible in real time to receive information about the liquidation of marginal positions on the exchange.
Earlier in July, Bitfinex announced it would send at least 27% of the profit from commissions for margin trading to buy UNUS SED LEO tokens issued to cover $ 850 million, which were frozen in the accounts of the payment company Crypto Capital and led the stock exchange to problems with the state prosecutor’s office New York.
