The Dutch bank ABN Amro will not launch a cryptocurrency storage service, arguing that digital currencies are “too risky”. Reported The Next Web .
So, in January, it was reported that the Wallie service, which provides secure storage of private keys for users' cryptographs, is being tested by 500 bank customers. It was also assumed that the bank would provide collateral for funds in their wallets up to € 6,000.
However, these plans, apparently, did not come true.
“We turned to all the people who showed interest in the service and came to the conclusion that cryptocurrency due to their unregulated nature is now too risky assets for our clients,” said ABN Amro.
Recall that in June last year, ABN Amro Clearing, together with the NASDAQ, EuroCCP and the European clearing system Euroclear, launched the blockchain platform for trading securities and derivative financial instruments.
