TON Blockchain with a cryptocurrency Gram from Pavel Durov will start in March 2019

The founder of the Telegram messenger Pavel Durov is ready to present his new product – Gram cryptocurrency , under the launch of which a year ago investors were attracted funds of $ 1.7 billion.

Sources from The Bell, familiar with the plans of Durov, said that a meeting with the largest investors of the project should take place within a month, which will present a test version of the blockchain platform TON and show the first examples of its work in Telegram. The launch of the main network Mainnet will be held in March.

The Durov team told investors that the project will be ready for full launch at the beginning of the year, but there may be delays in a couple of months – due to the “innovative nature of the development”.

Also, The Bell studied a newsletter addressed to investors of a new platform, which talks about changes in the TON roadmap and the Gram cryptocurrency.

It is reported that TON is ready by about 90% , and the latest news about the platform will appear in February 2019. Testnet Testnet will work in January (according to one of the investors, it has already earned). An audit of Testnet is scheduled for February in order to identify errors and flaws.

On January 17, Durov sent out a message in which he stated that:

"2018 was a great year for Telegram, but 2019 will be the most important year in the history of our company."

He promised to “implement many long-awaited changes to the product” that the users requested, and stressed that “2019 will be the time when the wishes of our users related to [Telegram] functions will be fulfilled”.

It is known that now the TON team is studying the legal nuances in more than 10 jurisdictions, preparing for expansion. TON Issuer works with crypto-counters in Japan, China and the UK. Sales are likely to begin in Asia. Perhaps the first country to receive a Gram appeal will be Japan.

Recall that the launch of a new blockchain platform was postponed more than once. Initially, the launch of a test network for TON was planned for the second quarter of 2018. By the end of 2018, it was supposed to launch a stable platform and a Telegram Wallet wallet.

In the course of the pre-sale of tokens at the beginning of last year, Telegram received $ 1.7 billion. In total, over 100 investors invested in TON. If the blockchain platform is not launched before October 31, 2019, the company will return the funds to depositors.
