Representatives of the United States Copyright Office did not recognize Craig Wright, an Australian computer scientist, as a Bitcoin developer. Such a statement from the department came after Craig Wright made an attempt to formalize the copyright of the source code of the BTC and the “white book”.
A few days ago it became known that businessman Craig Wright designed the copyright for the “white book” of BTC cryptocurrency and its source code. In publications that were published on the website of the American department, it was noted that Craig Wright, using the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto, presented in 2008-2009. two digital files whose contents are text and, in fact, the program code. It should be noted that the registration of copyright does not give the applicant the rights that the patent implies. It is known that the process of copyright registration requires the applicant only to fill out a form submitted by the Office, as well as to pay a fee, the amount of which is $ 55.
It can be said that the task of the department is not to recognize a certain person as the author of something. The Office accepts the application, the one who submitted the application confirms the correctness of the specified data. Thus, the Bureau is not engaged in verifying the reliability of certain statements. Representatives of the department decided to clarify the situation after the Australian developer has published a publication that states that the American authorities have officially admitted that he is the creator of BTC.
