The State Duma expressed the idea of launching a program to notify citizens about the appearance on the Internet of sites offering to buy fake tokens.

The initiator of this idea was Natalia Kostenko, deputy head of the Committee for Control and Regulations. She stressed that fraudsters often use insufficient knowledge of Russians about digital currencies and attract them to various questionable schemes.

    Kostenko stressed :

Cryptocurrency vendors often write on their websites that their activities are controlled by law enforcement agencies, thus misleading citizens. And if we do not have enough tools for the legal fight against such fraudsters, then we can launch a large-scale information campaign among the population. The same Bank of Russia posted on its website information about suspicious credit cooperatives to warn citizens. But in relation to crypto frauds, we have not done such work.

The media can be of great help to the authorities, the deputy added, who should spread information on fraudulent cryptocurrency resources through their own channels.

We will remind, earlier it was reported that in Obninsk the girl became a victim of fraudsters from whom she wanted to buy cryptocurrency and transferred them 50,000 rubles. However, the victim did not receive any tokens and was forced to seek help from law enforcement officers.
