The rules of Runet isolation have been published: not all

A draft departmental order of Roskomnadzor has been published on the government’s website, which describes in detail the rules for isolating the Russian segment of the Internet.

The document says that in the event of a threat, a centralized Internet traffic control regime is introduced.

Directing traffic outside of Russia will be prohibited, except when it affects communications between users from the Kaliningrad region and other regions of the Russian Federation. It is also proposed to make an exception for embassies, consulates and representative offices of Russia abroad.

Now the text of the project is going through a stage of public discussion and independent anti-corruption expertise.

Recall the law on the isolation of the Runet was signed by President Vladimir Putin on May 1. The document will take effect on November 1, 2019, and by 2021 the national domain name system, which is necessary for the implementation of the law, should work. The implementation of all provisions of the law will require at least 30 billion rubles .
