The release of a new hardware wallet for cryptocurrency Ledger Nano X
The manufacturer of hardware wallets for storing Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, Ledger, introduced Ledger Nano X , an improved version of Ledger Nano S, CoinDesk writes.
The new model was introduced at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas has Bluetooth support, a wider screen and more storage space – the Ledger Nano X can store information about 100 cryptoactive assets, which is six times more than the Ledger Nano S.
Bluetooth support in combination with the new mobile version of the Ledger Live application also means that users will be able to complete transactions at any time without having to have access from a desktop computer or laptop.
In addition, Ledger Nano X will be equipped with a rechargeable battery, which allows the device to work without the need to be connected to a computer via USB.
Ledger Company believes that the Bluetooth-enabled wallet solves the main problem faced by the user of the Ledger Nano S wallet, namely the need to connect to a computer to complete transactions.
Nano S is one of the latest hardware purses for cryptocurrencies issued by Ledger. To date, the company has successfully sold over 1.3 million Nano S.
Ledger's chief executive officer Eric Larchevek did not announce the cost of the Nano X, while the company acknowledged that the launch of a new wallet would reduce the speed of the Nano S.
Users have doubts about Bluetooth security.
Social networks are full of criticism of this news. In the general opinion, the simpler the device, the better it is (safer). As with any new technology, the emergence of Bluetooth on a wallet that guarantees 100% security of user assets will inevitably cause concern.
