Search engine number 1 in China Baidu launched its own blockchain platform
The Chinese search giant Baidu has launched a blockchain platform that allows you to simplify the commercial launch of decentralized applications (dapp).
On February 14, Baidu Cloud officially announced the launch of the Baidu Blockchain Engine (BBE) platform, which is advertised as an operating system that allows developers to create blockchain applications “just like mobile applications”, as well as take advantage of the enormous possibilities for data storage and computing.
Baidu says the BBE platform is built on a set of ABC technologies (artificial intelligence, data super-arrays, cloud computing), which will allow customers to explore and develop ways to commercialize the blockchain technology and their products.
BBE is hosted on Baidu's “intelligent” cloud platform and offers a modular blockchain structure, giving developers access to a multi-chain system that includes smart contract templates and dapp, as well as other services that simplify and accelerate development.
The platform can also be used for deployment in existing corporate networks of clients, and it can also be configured as a highly available and flexible “blockchain as a service”. Baidu says that the BBE platform is capable of supporting various blockchain scenarios — for example, consortia and private networks.
From a technical point of view, BBE also differs :
- reliable computing environment;
- high performance and scalability;
- the ability to create smart contracts and conduct security audits for them;
- ability to secure (confidential) data.
Baidu claims that the new system can also support verification of 50 billion tokenized assets .
Baidu search engine has long been actively working with blockchain technology. He launched a blockchain application for photos, a space game on the blockchain. In September 2018, documentation for the Xuperchain blockchain was released. In addition, the company has a site similar to Chinese Wikipedia, which is also based on the blockchain.
