Samsung has confirmed the possibility of creating cryptocurrency Samsung Coin

Samsung, a South Korean electronics company, is showing interest in cryptocurrency , as evidenced by the latest version of the Galaxy S10 with a built-in cryptocurrency wallet .

It is believed that the blockchain division of the company is also engaged in the creation of a network based on Ethereum , which just leads users to think about creating cryptocurrency.

Speaking a couple of days ago at the Blockchain Expo in London, the head of the Samsung SDS business development and fintech technologies department, Moritz von Waidkind, cautiously noted that the discussion of creating a Samsung coin is already underway.

However, at the moment, the application and design of the token is still unclear, although there is an assumption that this will be done as part of the customer loyalty program.

According to von Waidkind, work is being carried out by several divisions of the company, but if the decision to create a coin is made, the electronics division in South Korea will take care of it.

“Samsung is a huge organization, and to some extent everyone in this organization works with the blockchain ,” added von Waidkind.

The speaker also noted that the company is more interested in such technologies as artificial intelligence, IOT and blockchain, the creation of a new coin is not among the priority projects.
