Rospatent will fully launch several blockchain projects in 2020

The Federal Service for Intellectual Property (Rospatent) will summarize the results of pilot projects using blockchain technology by the end of the year, and in 2020 will fully launch them. This was stated by the head of the department Grigory Ivliev.

According to RIA Novosti, at the beginning of the year, Rospatent launched several pilot blockchain projects.

“By December-January there will be a clear picture of what we managed to do. Among the tasks are the creation of an online registration system for transferring rights, an automated search system for experts, automation of formal examination, the creation of a new convenient service for submitting electronic applications, and a number of such tasks, ” Ivliev said.

It is planned to start “trial operation” of projects next year.

In addition, in 2020 Rospatent will launch two digital platforms:

“One external – for information retrieval, the second internal – for registration. Outsourcing organizations, as well as ministries, departments, and the largest state corporations will gain access to it. All communication will be in electronic form , ”said the head of the department.

Recall that in 2018 Rospatent implemented three blockchain projects: storing data on registered computer programs and databases on the blockchain, simplifying the procedure for transferring rights from the owner of intellectual property rights to the buyer, as well as an intelligent system for matching and determining the similarity of three-dimensional models using blockchain.
