EOSWebWallet.io wallet developers presented an EOS Plugin extension for Firefox and Google Chrome browsers that allows you to run EOS DApps without downloading the full blockchain node to the user's device. This was reported to BlockchainJournal by representatives of the project.
According to the developers, the extension is compatible with different versions of the EOS blockchain and allows you to sign transactions even when using third-party services. In addition, when creating an account in EOS Plugin, the user does not need to enter his personal data, including email and location.
“Security and anonymity of data is a key issue in the development of the EOS Plugin. Keys and personal data are not stored on a third-party server: all information is processed only on the user's browser side, ”the creators of the plugin emphasize.
Private keys are encrypted using the sjcl library. During the signature, they are decrypted by a seed-phrase, which is stored in memory after entering the password during authentication. When you import a private key, the system automatically displays the public one.
Among other functions of the plugin are free import and export of personal information in encrypted form, fast switching between active accounts, instant confirmation of transactions on third-party resources and the ability to group any number of EOS accounts.
Recall that the installation of a web wallet EOSWebWallet.io was not introduced in September . It allows you to send any tokens, interact with smart contracts and the EOS blockchain by calling actions.
