The South Korean electronics corporation LG can develop its own cryptocurrency wallet , according to an application filed in the US Patent and Trademark Office.

Last week, LG applied for the registration of the ThinQ Wallet trademark for several application scenarios, including “software computer platform for blockchain”, “mobile electronic wallet for cryptocurrencies” and “payment application for mobile phones”.

Currently, LG is already using the “ThinQ” trademark in its G7 + smartphone.

The company has been interested in the blockchain's capabilities since at least 2017, when it worked on a financial platform using Corda software from the R3 consortium.

Earlier this year, it became known that LG, together with IBM and Ford, intends to use technology to track the supply of cobalt.

Earlier, a rival corporation Samsung presented its own smartphone with support for cryptocurrency wallet and decentralized applications.
