The cybersecurity company Kaspersky Lab has published data that cases of crypto theft this year increased by as much as 400%.
Although many crypto fanatics may well say that the main problem faced by the industry this year is associated with wild fluctuations in the prices of cryptocurrency, but Kaspersky Lab will have to disagree.
The company showed that in 2018 the number of cryptojacking cases reached 13 million, which is 400% more than last year.
Cryptojacking is a term used to describe a malicious activity regarding the mining of cryptocurrency.
One of the most alarming statistics is that the number of attacks in the Middle East and Africa has quadrupled since last year.
It is also worth noting that Monero (XMR) is one of the main digital currencies that are currently being pursued by crypto criminals.
