Jamaica Stock Exchange Launches Bitcoin and Ethereum Cryptocurrency
The Jamaican Stock Exchange (JSE) in partnership with the Canadian FINTECH startup Blockstation will soon begin testing transactions with Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) .
According to a press release, the partners entered into a master agreement that allows you to “trade in digital assets in real time in a regulated and secure environment.”
Testing of BTC and ETC trading will become part of the second phase of the pilot project. In the first phase, the JSE and Blockstation pilots conducted an experiment on real cryptocurrency for 60 days, in which regulated brokers-dealers, market makers and the Central Depository of Jamaica participated.
At the second stage, the pilot will be able to participate in the trade of the two leading cryptocurrencies by retail investors through the JSE and participating broker-dealers in compliance with the KYC / AML procedures. The exact date of the start of the stage of the company did not name.
In addition, as part of the general partnership, JSE and Blockstation intend to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in raising capital through the use of s ecurity-tokens (STO) .

Earlier, the JSE announced plans to release its own cryptocurrency.
