In Zaporozhye detained fraud, spreading the virus to steal bitcoins
Employees of the Department of Cyber Police detained a 30-year-old resident of Zaporozhye, suspected of fraud and theft of cryptocurrency. This is reported on the site office.
According to law enforcement officers, a 30-year-old male resident created the Stealer virus and distributed it among network users to gain access to these wallets on various crypto-countertops.
The virus got into the file system of users through spam mailing. He also camouflaged on various sites.
After gaining access to the wallets of the victims, the attacker deduced cryptocurrency to their addresses.
During the search, the police seized computer equipment and mobile phones from the suspect. Also, the specialists of the ministry found malware code on the hard disk.
The cyber police officers also concluded that the suspect in 2017 was distributing the kiaracript cryptographer.
Virus demanded user ransom of 0.15 BTC for data decryption
Initiated criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Art. 361 (Unauthorized interference with computers, automated systems, computer networks or telecommunication networks) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
